2024 Stanford Advanced Materials Scholarship Recipient's Thank-You Letter

Stanford Advanced Materials (SAM) is honored to support young researchers in materials science. Below is a message from our 2024 scholarship recipient, Tucker Erbeck, a junior at the University of Southern California.

Letter of Thanks:

Dear Stanford Advanced Materials Team,

I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for being selected as a recipient of the Stanford Advanced Materials College Scholarship. Your generous $1,000 award will be instrumental in supporting my growth as a student and my journey into the field of Materials Science.

As a junior majoring in Chemical Engineering with a focus on Materials Science, I have become fascinated by the interplay between material structure and function. To meet quality demands across various industries, these materials must be synthesized through reliable and advanced techniques. This scholarship has introduced me to the cutting-edge field of spherical powders, sparking my curiosity and deepening my understanding of recent advancements in materials science.

Thanks to your support, I am one step closer to my goal of becoming a materials scientist dedicated to optimizing sustainable processes through innovative materials. This scholarship also alleviates a significant financial burden, enabling me to focus more on my research and academic goals.

Once again, thank you for your generous donation and your role in helping students like me improve access to the field of materials science.

Best,
Tucker Erbeck
