Nimonic C-263 Wire Description
Nimonic C-263 Wire is an air-melted nickel-base alloy providing a sheet material that could be readily fabricated and would offer improved ductility in welded assemblies to replace NIMONIC alloy 80A. It is a nickel-chromium-cobalt-molybdenum alloy that offers an excellent balance of strength, ductility, and corrosion resistance at high temperatures. It is known for its remarkable ability to withstand thermal shock and oxidation up to 815°C (1500°F). This alloy is age-hardenable, allowing it to achieve high strength levels through heat treatment, making it particularly suitable for applications requiring both high-temperature performance and formability. Nimonic C-263 wire is commonly used in aerospace for components such as turbine blades and combustion equipment, as well as in industrial gas turbines and in the chemical processing industry, where its resistance to corrosion and high-temperature strength are highly valued.
Synonym: Nicrofer 5120 CoTi, Haynes 263, and Hastelloy C-263.

Nimonic C-263 Wire Applications
- Parts in Gas Turbines: It is extensively used for manufacturing various components within gas turbines, such as blades, vanes, and combustion chamber parts, due to its ability to withstand high temperatures and corrosive environments.
- Sealing Rings: Nimonic C-263's excellent formability and strength make it ideal for sealing rings, which require durability and resistance to thermal expansion and contraction in high-temperature settings.
- Aerospace Engine Components: The alloy's resistance to thermal fatigue and high-temperature corrosion makes it suitable for critical aerospace engine parts, including exhaust systems and afterburner parts.
- Fasteners and Springs: Its high strength and resistance to relaxation at elevated temperatures make Nimonic C-263 wire a preferred material for high-temperature springs and fasteners in aerospace and industrial applications.
