FeSiAl Powder Application

It is well-known that high-temperature annealing can improve the permeability and reduce the hysteresis loss of soft magnetic composites (SMCs), but the eddy current loss would be accordingly increased. Herein, we prepared a kind of Fe/Fe3O4-FeSiAl soft magnetic composites by replacing some Fe powders with FeSiAl, possessing high permeability and low core loss. After annealing at 550 ℃ for 1.0 h, the Fe2O3 and Fe-OH existing in the FexOy insulating coating gradually convert to Fe3O4 and the Fe/Fe3O4-FeSiAl SMCs with 25 wt% FeSiAl powder display excellent magnetic performance with a low core loss of 120.4 w/kg and a high real part of permeability of 118.6.

FeSiAl alloy exhibits potential microwave absorbing properties in the gigahertz frequency region. It has been made into high-performance microwave absorbing materials with strong absorption, broad absorption bandwidth, small thickness, and lightweight.
