Single Crystal Superalloy DD6 Description
Single Crystal Superalloy DD6 was developed for the applications of turbine blades on an aero-engine. Although the properties of the alloy are equivalent to those of other second-generation single crystal superalloys, DD6 alloy is a low-cost second-generation single crystal superalloy with only 2 wt.% Re. Single Crystal Superalloy DD6 is widely used for the fabrication of critical components of aero-engine such as turbine blades and vanes because of their excellent resistance to high-temperature deformation. The outstanding high-temperature mechanical strength of these alloys benefits from the additions of a number of refractory alloying elements.
