Notes:
1. To inquire or order a finished crystal, please provide specifications as listed above. For most applications, we only need to know the following:
1) Nd-dopant concentration; 2) Sizes; 3) Surface quality; 4) Coating.
2. For special requests, please provide a detailed specification for evaluation and fabrication.
Diffusion Bonding Crystals Description
Diffusion Bonded Crystals (DBC) are crystals consisting of two, three, or more parts with different doping levels or different doping, usually one laser crystal and one or two undoped crystals combined by optical contact and further bonded under high temperature.
Diffusion Bonded Crystal Applications
Used in laser technology such as creat4e monolithic crystal structures that exhibit high optical quality and excellent thermal conductivity, making them ideal for use in high-power lasers.
Used in electronics applications such as making piezoelectric sensors.
Used in making X-ray optics.
Diffusion Bonded Crystal FAQs
Q1 How are Diffusion Bonded Crystals fabricated?
The fabrication process involves:
- Polishing the surfaces of the crystals to be bonded
- Placing the crystals under high temperature and pressure in a controlled environment
- Allowing atomic bonding to occur at the interface, creating a seamless joint
Q2 What are the thermal properties of Diffusion Bonded Crystals?
Diffusion Bonded Crystals exhibit excellent thermal management due to the integration of materials with complementary thermal properties. This minimizes thermal stress and enhances the performance of high-power laser systems.
Q3 What coatings are available for Diffusion Bonded Crystals?
Common coatings include:
- Anti-reflective (AR) coatings to minimize surface reflection
- High-reflective (HR) coatings for specific wavelengths
- Custom coatings tailored to specific laser systems
