Incoloy A286 Wire Description
Incoloy A286 wire is an iron-nickel-chromium alloy with additions of molybdenum and titanium, designed to provide a unique combination of high strength and excellent corrosion resistance at temperatures up to 700°C (1300°F). This age-hardenable alloy is known for its durability, oxidation resistance, and ability to maintain strength under extreme conditions, making it ideal for high-temperature applications. Its wire form is widely used in the aerospace industry for manufacturing engine components, fasteners, and springs, as well as in automotive, oil and gas, and petrochemical industries for various high-temperature and high-strength applications.
Synonym: Cronifer 1525 Ti, Superimphy 286, Pyromet A286, and Udimet A286.

Incoloy A286 Wire Applications
- Jet Engines:
- Fabrication of critical internal engine components such as turbine blades, compressor blades, and combustion chambers that require high strength at elevated temperatures.
- Used in the assembly of engine mounts and exhaust systems, where materials must endure high stress and heat without deforming or corroding.
- Superchargers:
- Manufacturing of supercharger rotors and housing components that are exposed to high pressure and temperatures, necessitates materials that maintain structural integrity and performance.
- Utilized in the production of bearings and seals within superchargers, offering excellent resistance to wear and tear under extreme operational conditions.
- Afterburner Parts:
- Construction of afterburner assemblies and components such as flame holders, ducting, and vanes, which require materials capable of withstanding very high temperatures and aggressive oxidation environments.
- Employed in the fabrication of fuel nozzles and control systems in afterburners, where high temperature and corrosion resistance are critical for efficient operation and longevity.
- Fasteners:
- Production of high-strength fasteners, including bolts, nuts, screws, and rivets, used in aerospace, automotive, and marine engineering, where secure and durable joints are essential for safety and performance.
- Utilized in high-temperature applications such as exhaust systems, engine components, and turbine casings, where conventional fasteners would fail due to thermal expansion or corrosion.
