Description of Aluminum Honeycomb

Honeycomb made from Aluminum is a low-density material used principally as a shear-carrying-core in lightweight sandwich constructions. Since the air layer between the honeycomb composite panels is divided into a plurality of occluded cells by the honeycomb, the movement of the air is restricted, and the propagation of heat and sound waves is greatly prevented. Therefore, the honeycomb board is good for heat insulation, heat preservation, and sound insulation board. When used in a bonded composite sandwich panel, the high strength-to-weight ratio and corrosion resistance provide the perfect application for doors, floors, furniture, galley and sanitary modules, interior panel partitions, and energy absorbers.
