Sodium Citrate Powder Description
Sodium Citrate Powder (CAS 68-04-2) is a white powder at room temperature, odorless, and stable in the air. Its relative density is 1.857 (23.5°C). It loses crystal water at 150°C and decomposes if it continues to be heated. Sodium Citrate Powder is soluble in water, the pH of the aqueous solution is about 8, and it is hardly soluble in ethanol.
When fresh blood is taken clinically, it is necessary to add some disinfected sodium citrate to prevent blood clotting, so sodium citrate is called an anticoagulant. In addition, it is used as a flavoring agent and stabilizer in the food and beverage industry. In the detergent industry, it can replace sodium tripolyphosphate as a non-toxic detergent additive. Moreover, Sodium Citrate is also used in brewing, injection, and electroplating.
