Tungsten Rhenium Alloy Thermocouple Wire (Type C) Description
Tungsten Rhenium Alloy Thermocouple Wire (Type C) is a specialized type of thermocouple used for high-temperature measurements. Similar to Type G, Type C thermocouples use an alloy of tungsten and rhenium. Typically, the positive wire is made of tungsten with 5% rhenium (W-5% Re), and the negative wire is made of tungsten with 26% rhenium (W-26% Re).
Type C Thermocouple is known for its excellent performance in extremely high temperatures, slightly higher than what Type G can handle. This thermocouple is specifically known for its high-temperature resistance and stability, making it suitable for use in extremely high-temperature environments.
