Tungsten Flange Description
Tungsten pipe flange refers to the flange used for piping in the pipeline installation. It is used on the equipment to refer to the inlet and outlet flanges of the equipment. There are holes in the flange, and the bolts make the two flanges tightly connected. The flanges are sealed with gaskets.
Tungsten is the highest melting point element. Tungsten flange also has high strength, hardness, and corrosion resistance. At the same time, tungsten flange is hard, wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant, and heat-resistant. It is an ideal shielding material due to its outstanding radiation shielding function and high specific gravity.
Tungsten Flange Applications
1. Tungsten flange is used for connection between two pipes and for connecting the pipe end between the flanges.
2. Used for the inlet and outlet of equipment, for the connection of two devices. Most tungsten flanges are circular with external ridges and varying threaded holes so screws can provide extra safety and strength:
3. Tungsten flange is usually used in the medical industry to shield radiation. Because it’s made of tungsten alloy material, the flange not only has strong mechanical property, plasticity, and high compressive strength but also is very good at attenuating and ionizing radiation.
