Description of Yttria Stabilized Zirconia Micro Powder
Yttria Stabilized Zirconia, also called Yttria Toughened Zirconia Polycrystal (Y-TZP), is a strong fine-grain ceramic material. YSZ possesses excellent chemical inertness and corrosion resistance at temperatures up to 2200℃, well above the melting point of alumina. Zirconia is stabilized in the cubic crystal structure to avoid cracking and mechanical weakening during heating and cooling. In addition to their refractoriness, they offer low thermal conductivity and are electrical conductors above 800 ℃. It also possesses the unique ability to allow oxygen ions to move freely through the crystal structure above 600 ℃.

Yttria Stabilized Zirconia Micro Powder FAQs
Q1: What are the key properties of YSZ micro powder?
A: Key properties include high toughness, high fracture strength, excellent ionic conductivity, high thermal stability, good wear resistance, and chemical inertness.
Q2: How is YSZ micro powder produced?
A: YSZ micro powder is produced by doping zirconium dioxide with yttrium oxide. The process involves mixing the two powders, pressing them into the desired shape, and then sintering them at high temperatures to achieve a dense and stable ceramic.
Q3: What particle sizes are available for YSZ micro powder?
A: YSZ micro powder typically has particle sizes ranging from a few micrometers to several tens of micrometers, depending on the synthesis method and application requirements.
