Description of Iron nitride Powder (FexN Powder)

Iron nitride is an inorganic compound, a gray powder, insoluble in water, and can release ammonia when heated or exposed to moisture. There are five kinds of structures of iron nitride: Fe2N, Fe3N, Fe4N, Fe7N3, and F16N2. Iron nitride is easily decomposed at low temperatures (less than 400 degrees) and reacts with water to release ammonia gas. Under high-pressure conditions, FeN, FeN2, and FeN4 can be formed.
