Iron Sulfide Powder Description

Iron Sulfide Powder is generally dark brown or gray-black powder, which is much similar to iron oxide. Iron Sulfide Powder is soluble in acid, can release hydrogen sulfide gas, and is insoluble in water. Its melting point is 1194℃. It occurs naturally as the sulfide mineral greigite and is magnetic. It is a bio-mineral produced by and found in magnetotactic bacteria. Like the related oxide magnetite (Fe3O4), iron sulfide is ferrimagnetic.
