Incoloy 800 (Alloy 800, UNS N08800) Wire Description:
Incoloy alloy is also a range of superalloys produced by Special Metals Corporation. They are nickel-iron-chromium alloys that are used for applications that require high corrosion resistance and high-temperature strength. Incoloy alloys are quite similar to Inconel alloys but their different composition makes some distinctions in their applications.
Incoloy alloy 800 is an alloy of nickel, iron, and chromium. The alloy is capable of remaining stable and maintaining its austenitic structure. Incoloy 800 is primarily used in applications with temperatures up to 1100° F, where alloys 800H and 800HT are normally used in temperatures above 1100° F where resistance to creep and rupture is required. Alloys 800H/HT is used in a variety of applications involving exposure to corrosive environments and high temperatures such as heat treating equipment, chemical and petrochemical processing, nuclear power plants and the paper pulp industry.

Applications of Incoloy 800:
- Steam/hydrocarbon reforming for components such as pigtails, headers, collectors, manifolds, transfer piping, catalyst tubes, and quench system piping
- Ethylene pyrolysis tubing in convection and radiant sections - resistance to carburization and good mechanical properties
- Ethylene dichloride cracking tubes - resistance to carburization and to dry hydrogen chloride and chlorine components, e.g. Heat exchangers, piping systems, etc., in coal conversion plants
- Steam generators tubing in helium coolant, high-temperature reactor systems - high strength, resistance to helium and steam
