Hafnium Carbide Powder Description

Hafnium carbide (HfC) is a chemical compound of hafnium and carbon. With a melting point of about 3900 °C, it is one of the most refractory binary compounds. It’s the raw materials of CVD Fuel Cell Solar Energy Sputtering Targets.

Produced by reacting hafnium oxide and carbon at high temperatures. An excellent refractory. Hafnium carbide is the most refractory binary compound known. Hafnium carbide powder is obtained by the reduction of hafnium(IV) oxide with carbon at 1800 to 2000 °C. Hafnium Carbide Powder material, has a high modulus of elasticity, good electrical and thermal conductivity, and a small coefficient of thermal expansion.
