Cordierite Ceramic Tube Description
Cordierite ceramic tubes are made of cordierite ceramic. Cordierite ceramic is a type of magnesium aluminum silicate with particularly good thermal shock properties. Cordierite also has low thermal conductivity and thermal expansion, while also being cost-effective. Often used as a structural ceramic for kiln furniture applications, it also finds uses in other applications where rapid temperature changes take place.

Cordierite Ceramic Tube Applications
1. Kiln Furniture: Cordierite ceramic tubes are widely used as kiln furniture in the ceramics industry. Their low thermal expansion and high thermal shock resistance make them ideal for supporting ceramic products during firing, helping to minimize warping and cracking.
2. Thermal Insulation: Due to their low thermal conductivity and excellent thermal shock resistance, cordierite tubes are used as thermal insulation components in high-temperature processes, including furnace linings and heat shields.
3. Catalytic Converters: In the automotive industry, cordierite ceramic tubes are used in catalytic converters. They serve as the substrate for the catalyst, helping to reduce vehicle emissions. Cordierite's thermal stability and low thermal expansion are crucial in withstanding the high temperatures generated during catalytic reactions.
4. Heater Tubes: Cordierite ceramic tubes are used as protective sheaths for heating elements in high-temperature electric heaters and furnaces. Their thermal stability ensures that the heating elements are protected from thermal stress and damage.
5. Gas Burners: Cordierite tubes are used in gas burners for their high thermal shock resistance and ability to withstand repeated heating and cooling cycles. They help in efficiently dispersing heat and ensuring uniform combustion.
6. Heat Exchangers: Cordierite's low thermal expansion and good thermal conductivity make it suitable for use in heat exchangers, especially in applications that involve rapid temperature changes.
7. Chemical Processing: Cordierite ceramic tubes are used in chemical processing industries where they are exposed to harsh chemical environments and high temperatures. Their chemical inertness and thermal properties make them suitable for reactors and other high-temperature chemical processes.
8. Electrical Insulation: Cordierite's good electrical insulating properties and thermal stability make these tubes suitable for use in electrical insulators and components, particularly in high-temperature and high-voltage environments.
9. Infrared Radiators: In infrared heating applications, cordierite ceramic tubes are used as infrared radiators due to their ability to withstand high temperatures and provide consistent heat output.
10. Laboratory Equipment: Cordierite ceramic tubes are used in laboratory equipment that requires high-temperature resistance, such as in furnaces, crucibles, and thermocouple protection tubes.
