Selenium Metal Description
Selenium (Se) is a nonmetal, closely allied in chemical and physical properties with the elements sulfur and tellurium. The main commercial source of selenium is as a by-product of copper refining. Selenium is widely used in the manufacture of electronic equipment, in pigments, and in making glass. The gray, metallic form of the element is very stable under ordinary conditions. When exposed to light, this form will greatly increase in electrical conductivity.
Selenium Metal Application
Selenium Metal is used in the preparation of toner cartridges, optical materials, static photographic materials and other optical instruments. Se Metal is also the starting material for manufacturing metal selenide and compound semiconductors.
