Description of Nano Vanadium Oxide Powder (VO2)
Vanadium dioxide is a thermochromic material with a pure vanadium dioxide phase transition temperature of 68 °C.
When the temperature is higher than the phase transition point, VO2 is in a metallic state, the visible light region remains transparent, and the infrared light region is highly reflective. The infrared light portion of the solar radiation is blocked outdoors, and the transmittance to infrared light is small; when the temperature is lower than 68°C, VO2 is in a semiconductor state and is moderately transparent from the visible to the infrared region, allowing most of the solar radiation (including visible light and infrared light) to enter the room, and the transmittance is large, and the change is reversible. Based on these characteristics, VO2 has been widely used in surface layers, sensors, and imaging, as well as in potential applications in storage devices.
The phase transition temperature can be lowered to room temperature by doping tungsten.
